Miho Fukuhara

It's been a while since I last posted here in my blog. I got a little busy with my full time job, that's why. I was also a bit occupied with my preparations for my training in Japan, but this post is not about my job or my training. This is about Fukuhara Miho, a talented and undeniably beautiful musician/singer from Japan.

I knew about her when two of my friends were talking about her in Facebook. I got really curios so I started listening to her songs. The first one I listened to was "Save Me" which also features Leona Lewis. Miho's voice is amazing. It is smooth and very pleasant to the ears. Since then, I listen to her songs every day. I also watched the drama, "Kaeru no Ojou sama" where she played the role of a cool mom. She can do anything! Truly talented!

It must be fate that a friend of mine is a DJ, (DJ Daishizen), and he performs with Miho. When I heard that fact, I screamed. It's unbelievable, but it's real. He said that if I come to Japan, he would invite me to Miho's gig. I must be really lucky because I was actually scheduled to have my training on bridge design in Japan for 3 months. Yay!

As promised, my friend invited me to Miho's gig in Shibuya.

Inside the venue, I couldn't stop pinching myself to check if I'm dreaming or not. The show was great. Miho has a very strong stage presence. My Japanese is still bad so I couldn't understand what she said most of the time. It didn't matter. Just hearing her voice was enough.

My friends almost died of envy because......... I had a photo taken with Miho.

And my luck did not end there. Miura Daichi was also there. Ahhhhhhh.. I almost fainted. Haha.

never mind how I look.
I had great fun on that day. I actually spent the day walking around Tokyo with another friend before coming to the concert venue but I didn't feel tired at all.

I'm definitely watching Miho's gig again. I'm coming back to Japan next year and I want to listen to her more.  When I hear her sing, I can feel her passion towards music.

For the meantime, I have to do my best in my training. I am helping out in a certain bridge project now. Someday, when that bridge is done, I hope Miho would use it when travelling around Japan to have her gigs. That would really make me happy.

Kina Grannis

It has been a very long time since I posted here in the music section of my blog. This is  the second post in this section, following my post about Kaile Goh

I first heard Kina sing when I watched a video of her and Boyce Avenue on YouTube. She looks stunning, and her voice is totally amazing. The video showed a link to Kina's channel and I started watching her videos on YouTube.

When asked about her ethnicity, Kina answered that she's half Japanese and half European. Kina started uploading videos on YouTube and built a really big fan base there.

“One of the most amazing things that came out of the whole experience was the relationship that formed between me and my supporters online. They were right there on the journey with me, and every bit of success I had was thanks to them.”

Kina writes her own songs but also uploads covers. My favorite song must be "Valentine". This song has a really cute video. This video has over 10 million views on YouTube. Isn't that amazing?!

I also like the song she sang with David Choi, "The Way You Are".

Enjoy Kina's music guys!

Kaile Goh

I am a big fan of YouTube. I think it's a good avenue for people who want to share their music. I check different videos almost everyday. I watch videos of talented people on YouTube, most were recommended by friends, the others I "discovered" accidentally.

I can't be very certain as to how I discovered Kaile's video but I think her cover of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream was suggested by YouTube.

I've listened to many great artists on YouTube but Kaile's voice is very unique. No doubt, she's musically talented. She writes songs and can play the guitar very well. (I am very much into people who play the guitar because I have always wanted to be good at playing it.) After watching Kaile's cover of Teenage Dream, I watched her other videos and I enjoyed listening to all of them.

When asked about her music, she commented,  "It's pop rock. I dig melodies that stick in your head, but I also love rock music. I wanted to mix both of them together, and that's how these songs came about. The music is really energetic and catchy, but it still has a degree of danger."

Kaile will be famous very soon. That, I'm certain. You can check her  channel and watch more of her videos. You can also buy her songs in iTunes
